MADE IN MIAMI

"Society is a strong solution of the problem of how to get the greatest possible number of people to cooperate effectively in a venture that can never satisfy everyone." ― Joseph Heller, Catch-22

Being born in Miami is like holding a passport to the world. True to this sentiment, Miami is a city that defies logic. Yet, amidst the chaos, its rich culture and strong sense of community have created a space where people from around the globe can appreciate everything Miami and its citizens have built together.
The city I call home is a mosaic of cultures, rhythms, and stories, shaped by the sunshine, ocean breezes, and the hum of Spanish and the Caribbean through the air. It’s a place where pastelitos and café cubano at a ventanita are as common as afternoons spent eating at the grove or lounging in The Key.
Miami has always been a city fueled by hustle—whether it’s your abuelos working multiple jobs for a better life or a tech bro sipping overpriced cold brew while coding in Wynwood. At its heart, Miami embodies resilience and opportunity, constantly reinventing itself with each new wave of dreamers, whether they bring cash or bitcoin.
Back in the day, the city was a lifeline for Cuban exiles in the '60s and '70s, who arrived with little more than hope, a strong work ethic, and the clothes on their back. For them, the American Dream wasn’t just a slogan; it was survival. Little Havana wasn’t just a neighborhood—it was their proving ground, where bricks of ambition built businesses, homes, and entire communities.
Fast forward to today, and Miami’s hustle has a different soundtrack. It’s the clicking of laptops from tech entrepreneurs, the ping of OnlyFans notifications, and the constant buzz of influencers chasing the perfect shot. The city still attracts hustlers, just in designer sneakers and Psycho Bunny instead of a guayabera and cigars. But whether it’s a content creator or your abuelo who started with nothing but a dream, the spirit of Miami hasn’t changed—it’s what you make of it.
This generational tension mirrors Joseph Heller’s insight in Catch-22: “Society is a strong solution… how to get the greatest possible number of people to cooperate effectively in a venture that can never satisfy everyone.” For the older generation of Miami’s Cuban exiles, the American Dream was about survival—working within an imperfect system to build something out of nothing. For the younger generation, it’s about redefining that dream, whether through tech innovation, social media influence, or challenging outdated systems to create opportunities that reflect a more inclusive and modern vision of success.
Yet Miami isn’t just about hustle and dreams—it’s also about savoring the moment. Whether watching the sunset over Biscayne Bay or dancing to live music in Little Havana, the city teaches a deep appreciation for beauty and community.
